For a long time, a Little Ghost has been living in the attic of a Castle. It has one great, unfulfilled desire: to see the world by the light of day. The school children Karl, Hannes and Marie head off on a nightly expedition to the castle and run into the Ghost. The following day, the Little Ghost promptly wakes up at noon causing a commotion among the inhabitants of the city by appearing in various places and scaring people. Its joy turns into despair as it misses home and cannot understand why it can’t just return to being a ghost of the night. So it meets up with the children again and asks them for help.
