After her divorce, Birgit Halmer moves with her eleven-year-old daughter to the country. While the mother obviously handles the relocation without problems, the shy girl feels forsaken. Not until Nina joins a scout group, she finds emotional security and appreciation. But Nina's new religion teacher, Mrs. Singer, which also leads the scout group and the village priest are sectarians in a group called "Legion of holy angels".
