When Hugo, a young German, founds an undertaker's business in Wales, he is dead certain of its success. After all, the sleepy seaside resort of Aberystwyth boasts the highest density of old-age pensioners in Europe. But what Hugo didn't anticipate was the resistance of the locals and the craftiness of his competitors. His business is boycotted and he finds himself up to his ears in debt, that is, until his fatherly friend, the American jazz clarinettist Jim Lagota takes matters in hand. Hugo can't explain why, but suddenly the place is humming, and the corpses pile up in his cold store...
